Direct Travel gets you away Faster

Coach tour operators generally have two options to get their passengers away on holiday: direct on a single coach, or by a network of feeder coaches and coach interchanges. Our priority is to give you the best possible holiday experience and so we have chosen to only offer DIRECT TRAVEL to your holiday destination. As a result, we do not operate feeder coaches or coach interchanges.

This means our coach stops only at the advertised pick up points where we have customers to collect before continuing on directly to your holiday destination and return home in the same manner. We don’t mean that we travel ‘non-stop’. Breaks are not only essential for the driver, but also very welcome for our customers too and add to the overall holiday experience.

We believe that direct travel makes getting away on holiday easier and quicker. Going DIRECT minimises potential delays waiting for feeder coaches from other pick-up regions to arrive and also removes the need for any of our customers to change vehicles. It also helps us keep our prices down, and reduces our emissions too. Win, win!

This approach does mean that you may not find a pick-up point as close to your home as you would like, and we accept that this may sadly put some people off joining our holidays. It also means that should you join the coach at one of our first pickup points, you may have a longer journey time than others. However, we believe that the overall improved experience, brilliant prices, and the benefit to the planet is worth it.

Your Drivers & Coaches

In addition, most coaches will have an onboard toilet and some may have a drinks machine, particularly on longer trips. Whatever facilities are available on your coach, frequent stops are made for coffee and comfort breaks on all trips.

Naturally, all those we select are excellent drivers and take pride in the safety and comfort of their passengers as their number one priority. In addition, we aim to work with drivers that love providing a service and have an interest in the places they are taking you to. Your driver is a trained professional and will do everything he or she can to make your holiday a truly memorable experience.

As the first and only carbon neutral coach tour operator in Wales, we work closely with our local coach operator partners to ensure your holiday is as sustainable as possible. A Leisuretime coach operator partner agrees to a wide range of measures that helps minimise our carbon footprint whilst on tour. This ranges from minimum engine specifications through to minimising the use of plastic (no single-use plastic waste bags, for example) and driver training. In all cases, our carbon calculator understands how much carbon is emitted on each of our trips, all of which will be fully offset to ensure we maintain our carbon neutral certification.

Your Hotel Experience

We know that where you stay, the welcome you receive and the facilities available for you to enjoy are really important. So, we work with a wide variety of hotels to that we trust to give you the short break or holiday experience you expect.

Given our focus on value for money, the majority will be good 3-star hotels or equivalent. We work with most of the major hotel chains but many of our hotels will be family-owned, which we prefer as they tend to give you a more personal experience. Having said that, if we come across a really great 2-star or ungraded hotel that we know you’re going to love and are confident can give you the right experience, we won’t be shy about including it. Of course, the same goes for any 4-star or even higher graded hotels that want to work with us and give us the right deal for you!

Generally, we include full cooked breakfasts or breakfast buffets in our packages but every now and again we will offer you a simpler continental breakfast. Where we only include a continental breakfast, we will state this clearly on our website. Evening meals will generally be 3-course affairs with a reasonable choice for you to select from unless otherwise stated on our website.

Where additional inclusions are offered by our hotels, such as drinks packages or entertainment, these will be clearly advertised on our website and details included with your booking confirmation.

As part of our commitment to deliver net zero carbon emissions, we work with all of our hotels to support their actions to reduce carbon emissions on site. This includes understanding the carbon emissions per room. If you see anything that you think we could help them do better to make their property more sustainable, then please let us know. We’re all in this together, after all.

Your Excursions, Attractions & Events

One of the great pleasures of a coach trip with Leisuretime is that everything is taken care of – and that also means your programme of excursions. Our website and your booking confirmation will detail the excursions and entrances to attractions or events that are included in your package.

Unless otherwise stated, where we include an attraction or event in your package then that will also include any entrance tickets required to visit the attraction or event as advertised on our website. Some events and attractions have different ticket options. Please check the website and your booking confirmation for full details of the specific entrance tickets included in your Leisuretime package.

Finally, please remember that we do not offer optional excursions on our trips. The excursions stated in the holiday description are included in the price you pay for your holiday - and that means no nasty surprises for your wallet! Always make sure that you read the Holiday Includes section of the holiday description.

Please remember that there is also no obligation to go on any of our excursions. We have included them because we think they will add to your holiday experience, but if, on the day, you feel like a lazy day at the hotel or doing something entirely different on your own, then that is perfectly fine. Please just remember to tell your driver so you're not expected. It’s your holiday, after all...
