There are 13 National Parks in England and Wales, and the Peak District was the first national park to be established in 1951. Located centrally in England and covering more the 550 square miles, the park has stunning landscapes to enjoy throughout the year, from the reservoirs, to the viaducts, cycleways and varied wildlife and habitats. The park has been shaped by people and nature over thousands of years. The area is known and loved by many for its breath-taking views, bustling market towns and pretty villages, historic houses (Chatsworth being the most famous), attractions and hundreds of traditional events, such as the unique Derbyshire custom of Well Dressing.
